Fever blisters are blister type sores which form on the lips and on the edges of your mouth. People can often feel the sores coming on as they tingle, burn or itch before forming, this is the best time to treat the cold soar to reduce the healing time and severity of the outbreak. The fever blister generally last from between 7-14 days and can be reduced using a verity of treatments available.

Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex Type 1 virus (HSV1) .

People who have fever blister are often embarrassing about them but as many as 8 in 10 people have been exposed to the Herpes virus..

The cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus which is very contagious so its best to void coming into contact with the sores especially when they are oozing fluid from the blister. There is no cure for the Herpes virus but you can reduce the severity, number of out breaks and the amount of occurrences.

The virus "hides" in the nerve roots and there are a few known factors which can trigger the out breaks to the skin, some are :
